In the Chi Nei Tsang® II training level, 12 common health problems are described whose cause is called Winds in Chinese Medicine. This also gives rise to the subtitle with the phrase "Pump and push sick winds away ".

Winds can be compared to air in water pipes that obstructs the flow and causes a blockage. In a figurative sense, energy can no longer flow unhindered in the body and the supply and function of the body systems is restricted.

The technique described in Chi Nei Tsang® II, in which certain acupuncture points as well as pulse points are stimulated, aims to dissolve these blockages ("winds").

The 12 winds to be treated in Chi Nei Tsang® II are described as follows:

  • Wind 1 attacks the liver, pancreas and heart and triggers corresponding complaints.

  • Wind 2 affects the tongue, jaw, eyes and head and leads to multiple manifestations.

  • Wind 3 stresses the kidneys and should be carefully monitored, as the kidneys are very important for detoxification.

  • Wind 4 causes pain, stiffness, fatigue and discomfort throughout the body.

  • Wind 5 makes the abdomen stiff, hard, tight or too soft, caused mainly with wrong diet.

  • Wind 6 causes spasms of the muscles in the back, legs, neck, starting in the abdomen, through the nervous system to the muscles.

  • Wind 7 manifests itself in cramps that lock the jaw and make the whole body shake.

  • Wind 8 attacks the heart and also causes shaking, brings reddening of the skin, chest and back pain and a feeling of fullness in the abdomen.

  • Wind 9 shows up in tired legs and feet.

  • Wind 10 causes pain, numbness and heat.

  • Wind 11 affects the nerves and makes a stiff back.

  • Wind 12 causes cold or heat especially in the sexual organs.

A Chi Nei Tsang® session always begins with the loosening techniques of the abdomen and the activation of the so-called wind gates in the groin, below the navel and around the navel. These relaxation techniques are presented in the first training level Chi Nei Tsang® I.

Subsequently, the "winds" can be discharged by stimulating the combination of various acupuncture and pulse points in a specific order. This promotes the unhindered flow in the respective energy pathways in the body that are assigned to the individual organs, the so-called meridians.

In Chi Nei Tsang®, the acupuncture points are not needled but worked on with fingers or elbows until a perceptible reaction of the body is evoked, for example through a flow of warmth. In the same way, certain pulses are stimulated.

The balance in the organs and their interaction are activated as a whole with the techniques of Chi Nei Tsang®, so that the generation cycle in the 5-element system is restored. The result is emotional balance and improved function of the organs. Complaints disappear and a generally stress-free, lighter state develops.

Of course, it takes a lot of tact and experience to conduct the most effective session.

Mantak Chia has developed these techniques based on the knowledge and experience of various ancient traditional Asian massage techniques over the decades and written them down as a separate branch in the Universal Healing Tao® SystemMore articles, book material and online courses on Chi Nei Tsang® can be found on our website.
